Results of the 2010 British Judo Open

The British Judo Open competition was held in London on 15th and 16 May 2010 and Great Britain had some very good results.

  • Under 60kg: Ashley Mckenzie won gold, Nathon Burns silver and James Millar bronze.
  • Under 66kg: Colin Oates won bronze.
  • Under 73kg: Jan Gosiewski came in 7th place
  • Under 90kg: Andrew Burns, Michael Horley and Sam Ingram finished joint 5th, and 7th place.
  • Under 100kg: James Austin came 5th.

There are certainly some good contenders here for London 2012. The under 60kg men are strong in Europe but may struggle when they meet the Japanese who always dominate. The big Chris Sherrington is looking good for a heavyweight podium though and Sarah Adlington is looking strong for a women’s medal.
